Yes! It is very easy to do. I own a Garmin Nuvi. (Nuvi is the model) All you have to do is make sure it is charged and you can take it anywhere you would like. I love mine!!! It also comes with a mount so you can stick it on your windshield.
Garmin and TomTom is a good and top portable gps systems.
I am suggestion :
1. Garmin nüvi 255W 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator
2.TomTom ONE 125 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator
If you buy a Garmin, choose a model that ends with a “5″, like 205, 255, 265, 755, or 765, is a newer model (old models is end with “0″ like 200, 350, 360, 760, etc).
The new model upgrades from the older model series and have more feature such as widescreen, mp3, etc.
