I JUST bought the TomTom One XL on Sunday. **Apparently** it is good (see my lastest questions... it may help....) It's a gift for my father so I haven't opened it yet. But the reviews are good.

Got it at FutureShop

Tomtom one third edition is a great deal at 149 or some of the Mios are a good buy. Garman are great but more expensive. Wouldn't stray too much from those brands or the maps will suck. You don't want a brand that doesnt update maps because they went out of business.
